A letter written by former president John F. Kennedy to the head of the CIA demanding to be given access to highly confidential documents and information about UFOs was recently uncovered. This secret memo written on November 12 1963 just ten days before his assassination was released by the CIA for the first time is one of two separate memo’s written by the president requesting information about the paranormal. Author William Lester filed for the memo’s under the Freedom of Information Act while doing research for a new book ‘A Celebration of Freedom: JFK and the New Frontier.’
Some think that the interest shown by the president shortly before his death is sure to ignite more conspiracy theories about his assassination. Some with in the alien research community believe that these latest documents released to Lester could add some weight to the theory that the president could of been killed to stop him from discovering the truth about UFOs and a possible cover up.
JFK memo to CIA director
In one of these secret documents JFK ask the CIA director specifically for UFO files. The second of the two documents was sent to the NASA administrator and the president expresses a desire to cooperation with the Soviet Union on mutual outer space activities. JFK’s interest in UFOs may have been in part because of concerns he had about relations with the former Soviet Union. One of these concerns may have been over the multiple UFOs that were being seen over the Soviet Union and that they could possibly misinterpret these things could be U.S. technology and a show of possible U.S. aggression. Lester said he thinks that JFK wanted the information out of the jurisdiction of NASA so he could use it as proof to show the Soviet Union that it is not the U.S. doing it and we were not being provocative if the need ever arrived.
JFK memo to NASA
But some conspiracy theorists claim that these documents add more interest to a previously disputed file known as the “burned memo” which a UFO investigator claims to have been sent back in the 1990’s. The document having scorch marks on it is claimed to have been sent by a unknown CIA leak to UFO hunter Timothy Cooper in 1999 but it has never been verified. The unknown source for the document claimed he worked for the CIA between 1960 and 1974 and pulled the memo from a fire when the agency was attempting to destroy some of its sensitive files. The memo contains a reference to JFK’s secret service code name “Lancer”. On the first page the CIA director wrote ” As u must know Lancer has made inquiries about our activities which we cannot allow” , “please submit your views no later then October as your action in this matter is critical to the continuance of the group”.
The ‘burned memo’ is now the property of UFO investigator Robert Wood who bought it from Timothy Cooper back in 2001 says that he believes it shows that when the president asked the CIA about UFOs they decided to ‘bump him off’. Wood said he has tested the paper the document was printed on, the age of the ink, font types , watermarks, and other markings. A forensics company was hired by Wood to check the several things that you can use to date like age of the ink using the same techniques that one would use in a court of law.
