What is Area 51?

July 2nd 2010 | Posted by

Area 51 is a military base (a large military airfield), and a remote detachment of Edwards Air Force Base. It is located 83 miles north-northwest of downtown Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The base’s primary purpose is to support development and testing of experimental aircraft and weapons systems. What put Area 51 on the map is the Roswell UFO incident. It is only in recent years that  the US government confirmed the existence of a base at the “Area 51” location. Some people believe that alien bodies from the Roswell crash are being held at the base. Others don’t believe that there was ever a crash at Roswell. The most likely explanation is the Project Mogul, high altitude balloon test theory. But according to Apollo Astronaut Edgar Mitchell, the Roswell crash was real!
